Carmine Castronuova is a painter and artist, currently working freelance, as well as on his own projects. He has a diverse set of talents and interests, all which inform his art. He loves to paint in oils, acrylics, and watercolor, as well as draw in pencil, pastel, and colored pencil. He draws inspiration from many artists, past and present. Some artists he loves are Degas, Van Gogh, Seurat, Ingres, Rosenquist, and Alex Katz. Cartooning and animation are also passions of his, which he persues in his work and his free time. He studied studio art at NYU, and has worked for many prominent artists, such as gallery artist Rainer Ganahl, and animation legend John Canemaker. He also ran a successful after school art program for Long Island kids and teens, for many years.
Carmine seeks to express himself through his art, and draws great inspiration from nature. He loves trees and the outdoors, animals, skies, and stars. He strives to make art making as big a part of his life as possible. Some ways he does this is not only through work, but also through regular figure drawing, painting, cartooning, or even just sketching.
